Why cephalometric analysis now?

In recent years, orthodontic diagnostics using cephalometric analysis have gained significant attention. This method is especially becoming more prominent not only in traditional wire braces treatments but also in aligner corrections, as well as in prosthetic treatments, denture therapies, and cosmetic restorative treatments. Expectations are high for its application across many fields.

What does cephalometric analysis reveal?

Cephalometric analysis allows for the evaluation of malocclusions by assessing the relative positions of the upper and lower jaw bones, alveolar bones, and teeth. This evaluation aims to achieve harmony within the jaw and facial skeleton, a fundamental goal of orthodontic and prosthetic treatments.

Enhanced time performance and predictive treatment outcomes with AI

Cephalometric analysis is recognized for its utility across many dental clinical fields, yet it presents a significant challenge for general dentists. Although AI-assisted cephalometric analysis is emerging internationally, these systems have not yet fully met the standards and requirements of specialists. Under the supervision of Dr. Junichi Watahiki, with the cooperation of orthodontic specialists affiliated with Interdisciplinary Orthodontics Society, we aim to create a system that utilizes AI. DIP Ceph enables automatic tracing and superimposition, offering time-efficient performance and highly predictive treatment outcomes.

DIP method, devised by Dr. Junichi Watahiki, enables the calculation of quantified visual treatment objectives that can be utilized in orthodontic clinical settings. As a result, it is now possible to reflect cephalometric analysis results not only in analog setup models but also in all types of digital setup models. This allows orthodontic treatment planning based on cephalometric analysis in aligner orthodontics.
